Water Rugby

A brief history

For many years divers wanted a way of keeping fit and getting the lungs pumping. Swimming up and down the pool was ok but boring. What was needed , something competitive, a game that improved swimming skills and overall fitness, thus rugby was born. Back in the deep dark past Bromley started playing, using the width of the pool. Two sides numbers not important, experience an advantage but all members welcome to play. Although octopush was also being played, rugby became more popular within Bromley.

The ball can be round or as we now use, a mini American football filled with salt water to promote slow sinking.
